Northern Gigafinal: Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th July 2017 at
Wright Robinson College, Off Falmers Close, Abbey Hey Lane, Gorton, Manchester MI8 8RL

There will be plenty of other staff on the day who will help with any questions.

Time Control: 20 minutes + 10 seconds per move.

Parings will be done using swiss manager and available at www.chess-results.com

Players in 1st place in their category win a trophy and £100 Chess vouchers and qualify for the Terafinal which will take place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August 2017 at Daventry Court Hotel, Sedgemoor Way, Daventry NN11 0SG. Each player attending the Terafinal will win cash and compete for the STRAT title, Terafinal trophy and £2,000.

Players in 2nd and 3rd place at the Gigafinal will win medals and qualify for the Challengers Section of the Terafinal which will take place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August 2017 at Daventry Court Hotel, Sedgemoor Way, Daventry NN11 0SG.

In the event of a tie for 1st place vouchers will be shared but the Terafinal place will be awarded to the player that won the head-to-head match. If there was not a head-to-head match or it was a draw then play offs will take place to determine the winner. In the event of a tie for 3rd place all players placed 3rd= will qualify for the challengers.

There will be other prizes awarded on the day.

Catering– A mobile catering van and ice cream van will be on site. There are two indoor areas available indoors in the upstairs dance floor area & main hall parents’ areas – each offering various sandwiches, cakes with hot & cold drinks.

Other Information- Coaching will be available. A chess book stall will be there. Hoodies and t-shirts will be available for purchase. There is a lift available for wheelchair access.

Parkingwill be available at the school. There are 400+ parking spaces.

Getting there – Parking is available on site in the school car park and playgrounds. Parking is also available at St.Mary’s School next door. There will be staff directing parents to the appropriate car park. Twickenham Station is 10 minutes’ walk; St. Margaret’s is 15 minutes away. Some buses stop outside, many stop in the town centre.
