The full details are now available for the 2018 London Chess Classic, the flagship event of Chess in Schools and Communities, which will run from Saturday 8 – Tuesday 18 December.

The Classic itself is also the final of the 2018 Grand Chess Tour and will feature Grandmasters Hikaru Nakamura, Levon Aronian, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Fabiano Caruana.

It is possible that Caruana will be the World Chess Champion by the time the Classic starts, as it shortly after his forthcoming title match with Magnus Carlsen.

The festival of chess will also include a large number of other events, catering for players of all levels, including Open tournaments, the British KO Championship, conferences, CSC Tutor Training Days, simultaneous displays by Grandmasters John Nunn and Jonathan Speelman plus, of course, lots of events for juniors.

Kensington’s Olympia will play host to most of the events, with Google HQ (near King’s Cross Railway Station) hosting the semi-finals of the Grand Chess Tour plus some of the junior days.

It is now time to head for the Box Office. Get your tickets here!
